Alleged cultism: 4 suspected cultists arrested in Anambra community over murder of man, Agwuncha

The residents of Ngandam village, Nnobi, Idemili South Local Government area. Anambra state, have been thrown into mourning mood following the murder of their son, Emeka Agwuncha, by four suspected cultists.
According to the blind and amputated father of the deceased, Emmanuel Agwuncha, "My son was invited by the suspected killers to the house of Dr. Okpala in Umuru village, and on arrival he was immediately attacked with machetes, blocks and clubs resulting in his instant death.
"This incident happened on the eve of Easter and they dumped the corpse in the gate of our compound. Agwuncha's compound and left.
"We reported the matter to Nnobi police Division and five people that included Dr. Okpala, in whose compound the murder was committed were arrested. Okpala was released on health ground as I was told but that does not mean he has been set free.
"The suspects and the case file have been transferred to State CID by the DPO of Nnobi police Division and we are happy about that because relations of the killers called for settlement and the DPO gave some days for such but the meeting ended in fiasco and the DPO took the matter to Awka for discrete investigation.
"We need justice in this matter. I am blind and my legs were amputated on health ground, that I still live is because of this my son that they have killed just like that, without doing them anything. I need justice on his death. The perpetrators can not be left to go scottfree, I plead to Governor Soludo, Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, and other good spirited individuals to come to my rescue," he cried.
Also pleading for justice, uncle to the deceased who is based in Benin, Edo state capital, Anene Agwuncha, lamented that the death of Emeka has worsened the health condition of his father.
"From what I was told the killers invited him to Dr. Okpala's compound and killed him with machetes, blocks and clubs there, and brought his corpse to Agwuncha compound gate," he continued.
In his own reaction, Another Agwuncha uncle, that is based in Lagos, Humphrey, condemned in strong terms the alleged murder of Emeka and urged the police to ensure the culprits are brought to book.
Contacted on the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Tochukwu Ikenga. (SP), pledged to make contacts adding that the incident has not been reported to him as at the time of filing this report.
The corpse of the deceased it was gathered has been deposited at a morque in a nearby community
