Blaming IPOB Instead of ISWAP, BokoHaram, Killer Herdsmen 'the Real Nigeria's Enemies' is Hypocrisy Says Ejiofor
The Defense Counsel for the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Sir Ifeanyichukwu Ejiofor Esq has decried the deliberate efforts to divert attention from alleged killer extremists who disguise as jihadists towards the IPOB as the enemies of Nigeria describing it as hypocrisy.
In his article titled "Hypocrisy at Its Peak: The Dangerous Diversion from Nigeria’s Real Enemies" Ejiofor condemned the unabated onslaught against defenceless citizens saying that until those in authority summons the courage to confront the truth, and hold the right persons accountable would Nigeria reclaim the path to peace and security.
"The very zenith of hypocrisy is attained when deliberate and calculated efforts are made to divert attention from the palpable and ongoing atrocities perpetrated by virulent jihadist elements/terrorists including those disguising as herdsmen, Boko Haram insurgents and ISWAP militants, who, with chilling consistency, prosecute a brutal and existential campaign of violence against the Nigerian State.
"Their onslaught is neither selective nor restrained; it is directed against the very fabric of national stability, our security institutions, already overstretched, and, more tragically, against defenceless citizens whose blood is daily spilled across the North-West, North-Central, North-East, and the Middle Belt.
"This unrelenting carnage, which ought to command the undivided urgency of both government and public discourse, is instead being overshadowed by a most curious and disingenuous narrative. In what can only be described as a desperate bid to manufacture a convenient diversion, attention is redirected towards the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB)- a peaceful movement of global reach, present in over fifty countries, and widely acknowledged for its non-violent posture, yet paradoxically branded among financiers of terrorism. Such rhetorical gymnastics not only strain credulity but betray a troubling inclination towards obfuscation rather than resolution.
"It is precisely this pattern of misdirection and selective outrage that underscores why the hydra-headed insecurity ravaging the northern regions continues to defy meaningful resolution.
"Until we summon the collective courage to confront the uncomfortable truths, dismantle the architecture of denial, and unequivocally call out those, whether by action or omission, who enable these heinous crimes, any purported solution will remain illusory.
"Only through candour, accountability, and an unflinching commitment to truth can we hope to recalibrate our national response and reclaim the path to peace and security," Ejiofor said.
