Anambra Guber: YPP candidate Paul Chukwuma receives strong Grassroots Support at roadshow

 From Aloysius Attah, Onitsha

Ahead of the November 8 Anambra State Governorship Election, the Young Progressive Party, YPP, has demonstrated its grassroots-based support with a road show from Awka, the Anambra State capital, to Onitsha, the commercial nerve centre of the State

The road show commenced from Awka and generated massive support from youths and transporters, including shuttle buses, keke, and okada riders along the way, numbering several hundreds.

The show, which crisscrossed several communities including Amawbia in Awka South LGA, Nwafia, Enugu-Ukwu, and Abagana in Njikoka LGA, further extended to Umunnachi and Umudioka in Dunukofia LGA. The rally also moved through Ogidi and Nkpor in Idemili North LGA, before terminating in Onitsha. Passing through Oyeagu, Afor Igwe, and Eke Nkpor, all of which are very busy markets with a large volume of business activities, the YPP team received massive grassroots approval, with chants of support and sporadic embrace from the traders at various points.

The road show, which was anchored by the YPP Governorship candidate, Sir Paul Chukwuma, and the Deputy Governorship candidate, Uzu Okagbue, also featured the wife of the YPP Governorship candidate, Lady Ify Chukwuma, YPP supporters from various parts of Anambra State, and youth groups for whom the YPP ticket appeals as a result of its youthful outlook.

One clear message resonated during the road show- “Government is not rocket science. We want to demonstrate to our people that we can get it right with just three key agendas, namely, human capital development, infrastructure development – hard and soft, and security, which I call the HIS agenda” Chukwuma stated.

Sir Paul Chukwuma, a first-class graduate of philosophy and a first-class graduate of law, has made a significant impact in the private sector in diverse areas, including education, education consulting and services, construction, leisure and entertainment, among others.

He is a respected business leader and is reputed for quality ideation and insightful leadership. Mr. Chukwuma is only 47 years old. On the other hand, Uzu Okagbue, the YPP deputy governorship candidate, comes in handy not only as a youthful running mate but also as the most consequential deputy governorship candidate in the November 8 Anambra State governorship election. Uzu comes with private and public sector experience, just like Sir Paul Chukwuma.

He is also known and reputed for his astute and business-minded personality with a knack for excellence. So, both Chukwuma and Okagbue look every bit like a new dawn for the vast majority of Anambra voters, especially the youth population, who are tired of the same old antics of the older political parties and players.

Chukwuma also noted that the reception given by the people all along the way is a full testament that the people are willing to go with the YPP come November 8.
