Champion award, Soludo's appointment: Anambra community celebrates ASMATA PG

The people of Oraeri community, Aguata local Government area, Anambra State, weekend celebrated the award bestowed on their son, Chief Humphery Anuna, by the Daily Champion Newspaper as, "Best Market leadership Award", and his appointment by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, as President General, PG, Anambra State Markets Amalgamated Traders' Association, ASMATA.

Speaking at the occasion, the President General of Oraeri community, Evangelist Alex Agudosi, commended the management of Champion Newspaper and Governor Soludo for finding their son worthy to be so honoured.

"We are happy for this honour by a national newspaper like Champion to honour our son with the "Best Market leadership Award," and his appointment by Governor Soludo as the PG of ASMATA, we are so elevated by the double honour.

"Come 8 November 2025, it is Soludo that we know because of his marvelous achievements in the state within a short period. Definitely he is going for second tenure, he is unstoppable," Oraeri PG vowed.

Earlier in his speech, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, chairman in the local Government area, Hon. Vitalis Okereako, said, "We are celebrating the double honour bestowed on our son, Chief Humphrey Anuna, (Ajirija Oraeri).

"He was honoured by Champion Newspaper and has earlier been appointed by Governor Soludo as PG ASMATA. So it is double celebrations for APGA. APGA has consistently produced good leaders . Go and see their achievements, that is why we are APGA," he boasted.


Contributing, the ASMATA Public Relations Officer, PRO, High Chief Emeka Unegbu, disclosed that, "We are celebrating the appointment of Chief Humphrey Anuna, ( Ajilija Onwa Oraeri, Ogwu Ndi Ahia), by Governor Soludo and the award of "Best Market Leadership Award," bestowed on him by Champion Newspaper.

"Since he became the ASMATA PG peace has been restored in the markets in the state and IGR improved upon. Soludo deserves second tenure for achieving in three years what others could not achieve in eight years.

"I call Soludo "Onacholu Governor", not "Oluatuegwu" that people call him. He has passed that stage, he now looks for work to do," he disclosed.


In his response, the celebrant, Anuna, commended the people for the honour accorded to him and urged them to ensure massive votes for the governor come 8 November stating that he achieved in three years what successive administrations could not achieve in 16 years 

According to him, "Soludo minimized death in Anambra State and brought hunger to zero per cent. He is the only governor that is working and focusing on human capital development," he revealed.

Anuna disclosed that the honour accorded him by his people will spur him to achieve more saying that whom much is given much is expected from him.

In their various remarks the member representing Aguata in the House of Representatives, Hon. Dom Okafor and chairman of Umudike village, Paul Ndubuisi, commended the governor and Champion Newspaper for the honour accorded Chief Anuna adding that to whom much is given much is expected.
