The President-General of Ndimgbu community in Otolo, Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Mr. Celestine Uzochukwu Okeke, Esq., has declared that his administration remains committed to transforming the community, listing key achievements recorded within his two years in office.
Speaking in an exclusive chat with journalists, the legal practitioner said he has worked tirelessly since assuming office, ensuring that Ndimgbu witnesses visible infrastructural development, improved security, and better social welfare for residents.
“If you come to our community today, you will see the difference. We have constructed access roads, renovated the community hall and given the hall a new look with fresh paint to make it more conducive for meetings,” he said.
He also noted that his leadership has facilitated the installation of an electricity transformer to boost power supply. In addition, welfare initiatives such as support for widows, the less privileged, and scholarship awards for outstanding pupils ,sponsored by community stakeholder Hon chijioke Akpunonu and Hon Azuka Ndiefo have been introduced to uplift residents.
On security, Okeke stated that his administration set up a formidable local security team to ensure peace and stability in Ndimgbu. He, however, accused some misguided youths and non-indigenes of being responsible for pockets of criminal activities, stressing that his leadership is taking proactive steps to curb insecurity.
Speaking on ongoing projects, he revealed that construction of culverts and interlocking of Ndimgbu community hall's compound are currently in progress, assuring that more developmental initiatives will be executed in due course.
Okeke also weighed in on national issues, reacting to the state of emergency declared by President Bola Tinubu in Rivers State. He blamed Governor Sim Fubara for failing to maintain firm control over the state, arguing that no governor should allow external forces to dictate governance.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the progress of Ndimgbu, assuring residents that his administration is not slowing down in its pursuit of community development.
